Marriage/wedding logistics

If the 9th Circuit court of appeals does not impose a stay –then on Wednesday August 18 at 5 pm it will be legal for gays and lesbians to marry.   The Los Angeles County Registrar Dean Logan sent out information yesterday that the Norwalk headquarters (12400 Imperial Hwy, Norwalk) will remain open late from 5-8 pm to accommodate couples who wish to get licenses. There also will be civil commissioners available to perform civil ceremonies.  Other locations will open at their regular times of 8 am on Thursday August 19.  Beverly Hills Courthouse doesn’t open to 8:30 am  Link to important information here.

The City of West Hollywood at King;s Road Park south of Santa Monica Blvd. will have the city council and others who are available to perform civil weddings on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center at the Village on McCadden between Santa Monica Blvd and Lexington will also have folks on hand to perform civil ceremonies all day Thursday beginning at 10 am.
