A Teach In Before the Women’s March

Sunday night I had the privilege of being part of the ZIONESS sponsored Teach- In before the upcoming Women’s March.  As you may be aware the Women’s March has been roiled in Antisemitism.  Well the truth is some of the leader’s of the DC March have been on record with Anti-Semitic speech and supporting virulent Anti-Semitic and anti-LGBTQ people including Louis Farrakhan head of Nation of Islam.  Particularly, national leaders of the women’s march Linda Sarsour, Tamika Mallory and Bob Bland have all refused to renounce their association with Anti-Semitic groups and will not retract their anti-Semitic statements.

The Women’s March Los Angeles has strongly and vociferously distanced itself from these hateful positions and the national march.  Each march in each city is separately incorporated. There is no National Infrastructure only shared logos. I participated in a a meeting with Emiliana Guereca  at the American Jewish Committee with Jewish community leaders and am confident that as a Hispanic Jewish woman  raising Jewish bi-racial children she is not only sensitive to the issue of Antisemitism but is working hard to ensure that the Women’s March Los Angeles is inclusive of LGBTQ people, Jewish people, African Americans, Hispanic, Asian, Native Americans, Muslims and Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and those of no faith of all.
