DREAMS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

There are lots of kids with special needs.  My friend Marc Purchin had a dream and idea to help out.  Instead of a usual 40th birthday celebration–he thought he would give back.  He founded the Quad4Dreams event which will take place on July 25 in Culver City, CA.  This sports/fun event to be held at Veteran’s Park in Culver City will raise money for scholarships for graduating high school seniors who have an IEP.

What is an IEP you ask?  No it is not a disease. It is an Individualized Educational Plan.  Kids with learning challenges or physical challenges often have to be taught in unique ways. They can qualify for a special program that will give them the learning help they need to attend school. If a kid has ADHD or autism or other challenges they need to learn in special ways. An IEP can help them succeed in school and in life.

This event will help raise money for scholarships to help them continue their education in college, vocational school or university! Also a challenge for those with learning issues.   I hope you will consider being a part of it. As you can see they already have corporate sponsorship of this great event.  100 percent of the money goes to scholarships!!!!

Quad 4 DREAMS: Party With a Purpose will be staged on Sunday, July 25th in Culver City at Veteran’s Park. An estimated 300 attendees will take part in “fun only” sports, games and other festivities, in order to raise funds and awareness for the newly created Dream/Plan Scholarship. That’s a $5,000 scholarship for students who advance to college, vocational or apprenticeship programs, having completed high school under the guidance of an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP.) The fundraising target for this event is $40,000 (eight scholarships.) This Quad4Dreams scholarship fundraiser is a program of the nonprofit organization D.R.E.A.M.S. which is an acronym for “Developing a Responsible, Educated And Moral Society.” They’ve been around for more than a decade, providing opportunities for teenagers to get involved in community service projects, and awarding college scholarships. For more information and to register, visit http://www.quad4dreams.com

The first scholarship is already funded and we are on the way to the second. Come be a part of this unique and worthwhile event. And help make a difference in a young person’s life!!!!

Thanks Rabbi Eggers, you wrote a wonderful and powerful plug
for Marc’s birthday project. Let’s hope we can get some more
sponsors in July to fulfill the four scholarships.
These are tough economic days so Marc is working very hard.
Thank you, Denise from Marc’s family and parents.
